::Coming home to a new repurposed raised bed garden, complete with deer-deterring fence.
::We might actually get to eat most of our veggies this year!
::It's huge and I am so happy with my honey. (see how big my smile is the top photo?!?!?)
::See the evolution of our gardens here.
::Getting my watercolor on.
::Filling my knitting needle wrap with brushes instead of needles.
::Itching to fill some blank walls with some art.
::Giving hugs to and packing up two Windfall babes on their way to their new homes.
::Enjoying more hubby handywork in the shape of freshly painted bedroom walls.
::It's hard to tell in the morning light, but the color greyish palish lovely-ish blue called Forest Reflection.
::Excited for some quiet time. School is back in session today.
::YAY!
::Wondering if that excitement makes me a poor mother?

I am SUPER jealous of that big garden! It is looking great. Hope you get lots of yummy things to eat this season!
ReplyDeleteAlso, your excitement of a little "me" time doesn't make you a poor mama. ONE of my favorite times of day is bedtime when all is quiet and I can finally hear myself think.
It's in those moments we allow ourselves to rejuvenate so we can be better mothers to them when they are at home. :)
Thank you Olivia, it is nice that I am not alone. I can take no credit for the garden, truthfully it is all my honey.
DeleteMy hubs built me a huge garden this year too....and with very high deer fences too...that we'll probably also have to add electric to and lord knows what else. The deer here are RUTHLESS! I'll have to post pics to my blog soon. It's ginormous! I am in heaven.
ReplyDeleteAwesome Danielle! I can't wait to see it. Really the deer here are NUTS! We call it a bed and breakfast because they sleep in the perennial garden and eat in the vegetable garden!
DeleteLove your garden! Great fence too! I dream about my garden all day and all night, it gets me thru tough times and the good times too. The thing I love most is teaching my toddler girls how planting a seed becomes food! Come to my garden its just a click away! Im anxiously awaiting the pea sprouts to pop up, when I get any action there Ill post it!

Your garden fencing looks so nice! When we've had fencing it is always kind of half-ass, not so great looking. Then when we don't have it I cry a little at ever plant chomped upon or ripped out. May you get to eat the harvest this year!!
ReplyDeleteI love the garden, that is going to yield you so much goodness!
