::Embroidery Hoop Jewelry Hanger::

With Spring retreating from sight and the signs of winter ( like 24 degree nights ) returning, I have been bringing some spring into our house.  Trying to trick myself into feeling that it's here.

Embroidery hoops are one of those amazing little things that bring a immediate change to a space.  Almost like art or photos... but with fabric.

My kind of art!

We are doing a little remodel on our bedroom...painted walls and pine trim, new door and window casings.  Getting rid of the modular home seaming strips. It's amazing what a little facelift can do.

::NOW::

With a stack of hoops gathering dust (due to my lack of embroidering...ehem), I decided to update my fabric hoops in the sewing room and to also spread some new ones outside of the sewing room and to bring them into my side of our bedroom.

I put up two hoops and had a third that I was picking fabric for, but instead decided on making a hoop with the ability to hang my jewelry from.

I had looked on Pinterest at some really great ideas for using picture frames to hang earrings, but I didn't have any frames large enough.

I decided to experiment a bit.  For a similar feel and to follow the trend of hoops that I was using, I decided to try using a thrifted skirt that had a lacy detail and my last hoop.

I found a section that was symmetrical and trimmed around the back of the hoop with scissors.

Then I poked my earrings through the lace and hung the necklaces from the tightener at the top of the hoop.

It hung up beautifully and the fabric didn't sag under the weight of the jewelry... something that I was worried about.

I sandwiched it between the other two hoops already on the wall and I am glad that I chose white.  I can easily change out the coordinating hoops fabric as the mood strikes.

It makes me happy to wake in the morning and see such pretty things hanging at eye level.  Picking out earrings to wear at 5:30 in the am just got a whole lot more appealing.

Now all we need is some new dressers and maybe a TV at some point in our lives.
